Anticoagulant Service

The in-patient anticoagulant dosing at Wythenshawe Hospital is managed by ward medical staff with advice, when required, from Haematology medical staff.

There is regular audit of the quality of anticoagulant control and guidelines have been issued.

Out-patient anticoagulant therapy is provided by clinics at both hospitals. All patients requiring anticoagulant therapy are seen regularly at these clinics under the supervision of a Consultant Haematologist. There is continuing audit of the quality of treatment. There is a jointly managed Community and Hospital domiciliary anticoagulant service for house-bound patients.
