The following tests should be by prior arrangement with the laboratory. Most of these investigations require fresh samples to be taken.

· Haemolytic anaemias
· Red cell enzymes
· Bone marrow trephines
· Blood cell cytochemistry
· Leucocyte alkaline phosphatase
· Radioisotope investigations
· Schilling test
· Red cell mass
· Red cell survival
· Specialised blood coagulation studies
· Cold agglutinins (at 37ºC)
Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia
Flow cytometry for diagnosis of haematological malignancies: samples will be sent to MRI Immunology; they should not arrive there after 2 pm Fridays.
